Climate Change and Business Fellowship
October 9-10, 2009
Society of Environmental Journalists Annual Conference
Seven business journalists received fellowships to attend and participate in two special sessions on covering climate change as part of the Society of Environmental Journalists’ 19th Annual Conference in 2009.
The fellowships for business journalists were offered jointly by Metcalf Institute and the Yale Forum on Climate Change & The Media.
The fellowships provided travel expenses, lodging, and SEJ conference registration fees. Fellowship recipients attended and participated in two special sessions organized by Metcalf Institute and The Yale Forum in addition to SEJ conference activities. The two special sessions were developed to explore the costs and benefits of climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies; and the economic forces driving mass circulation journalism and the future outlook of environmental reporting and reporting on climate change in a period of turmoil for the journalism industry.
