Amber Caulkins joined The College & University Research Collaborative (The Collaborative) in 2013 to serve as the initiative’s first program director. She previously worked for the Rhode Island Technology Enhanced Science Project, a National Science Foundation grant at the University of Rhode Island where she directed communication efforts. Amber is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island where she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a Master of Arts degree in communications studies. Her research interests include building effective interdisciplinary research teams, working collaboratively with practitioners and policymakers to solve complex challenges, and using principles from storytelling and design to make research compelling to audiences outside of academia.
