Amy Alonzo is the outdoor, environment and wildfire reporter for the Reno Gazette Journal, Northern Nevada’s largest newspaper. She has more than two decades of journalism experience at five newspapers across the country, working as a photographer, reporter and editor of a small weekly before landing her dream job in Reno. She’s a 20-year rock climber who has climbed hundreds of routes in Yosemite National Park and the Sierra, as well as a long-distance runner.
