Curious about the intricate connections between climate patterns, water scarcity, and the under-explored South Atlantic? In this thought-provoking lecture, Dr. Regina Rodrigues will delve into the fascinating nexus of climate dynamics and water availability in South America. She’ll discuss how the temperatures of the tropical South Atlantic influence climate patterns in northern South America, and the factors that lead to extreme weather events in the region. You’ll also learn about the consequences of historical under-researching of the South Atlantic, and how climate change is altering heat distribution in the Atlantic, exacerbating water scarcity issues in South America, and the evidence of these changes already in motion. Join us for a rich conversation on the complex interplay between climate dynamics and water resources in South America, and the impacts on our world.
